At Masking the Pain, we believe that grief is a deeply personal journey and that everyone deserves support in their own way. Our mission is to:

  • Break societal stigmas around how people "should" grieve by embracing unique grieving processes.

Our Organization serves a diverse audience, offering accessible, creative, and meaningful grief support. By focusing on mental health, community connection, and non-traditional healing, we reach those who need a different approach to grieving. Our support base includes grieving individuals, mental health professionals, local businesses, and donors who believe in breaking the stigma around grief and emotional healing.

Participants paint masks that reflect their emotions, using color as a tool for self-expression.

Journaling & Letter

Writing to Loved Ones Guided exercises to help individuals process their grief through writing.

Prayer Box Creation 

A spiritual activity allowing participants to release their thoughts and prayers into a symbolic space.

Grief & Healing Floor Maze –

A movement-based activity that represents the journey of grief and healing.

Mindfulness & Emotional Breathing Exercises –

Techniques to help manage grief waves, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm.

Candle Lighting & Memorial Events –

Opportunities for individuals to honor their loved ones in a supportive setting.
